A bit rustic and angular. Some nice Cabernet character and a touch of St Estephe grip. A nice effort for the vintage but lacking the grace of better years.

1 hour decant. Traditional and very Bordeaux-like on the nose and palate. Nose of dark cherry, menthol, and forest floor. The dark cherry carries over to the palate with some nice earthy tones and black licorice. The acidity is medium+ and refreshing, while the tannins are quite mellow and rounded. I still think a decant is needed, but after 1 hour, the wine just takes off. Overall, just a beautiful effort in a so-so vintage. Drink now-2030. 92 points.

I won't go as far as Mr. Galloni to 95 points, but this is a very solid and restrained (against the current trend) Rutherford Cabernet. Bright red cherry with tobacco and a hint of cedar. Very well balanced acidity and soft well integrated tannin. Medium finish and should easily last another five to six years if cellared properly. This is an excellent wine.

Muted flowers on the nose then a pure, singing, unabashed cherry note coming straight through on the palate. Simple, and I don’t mean that in a bad way. Some secondary notes of cassis and other bright red fruits come in then, and the finish brings a little wood.
