PNP. Decanted for a small amount of sediment. Moderate bricking. Fragrant nose of violet and raspberry. Leather and earthy red fruit on the palate. Silky tannins and fresh acidity. Basic, but charming rustic right bank Bordeaux. Unlikely to improve, but no hurry to drink up.

Bought a 12b case for 16/b from Binny's 17 years ago; this is mid-case. Semi-dry cork: broke into two pieces (80/20) so still a good seal. Decanted with normal sediment for its age. Dark purple, no amber; fragrant blackcurrant, bit of flint (cab franc?); mature dark berry fruit, good mouthfeel; some persistence. Holding well, glad to have more. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement, then basement condo locker since purchase. My evaluation: For my non-points, 4-level rating scheme, see earlier posts. This is notable+ when considering quality, age, and price.

Bought 12b for 16/b from Binny's about 15 years ago; this is #4. Decanted with normal sediment for its age. Dark purple; lean blackcurrant nose, some graphite; mature fruit, decent mouthfeel, tasty, not quite delicious. This has taken time to come around and should last a few years longer. Stored horizontally, first, in a cool, dark basement and then in a basement locker for a condo since purchase. My evaluation: For me, scores on a "100-point scale" are misleading. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. This is notable when considering quality, age, and price.

Just opened and has some funk and barnyard on the nose so decant until the nose diminishes. There’s some bricking and the wine is reddish. The palate is coffee and tart red cherry. Drink this now!

This is my 5 bottle of a case. Great vintage of 2000 shines through. It has all the characteristic of a good bottle of wine, great nose, integrated tannins and polished finish. Definitely needs a filter when pouring as there is a lot of sediment. 13% alcohol. 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc.
