Very much agree with Casa H. - this wine needs a good three or four more years to show its true potential, right now it's a powerful, almost over the top big daddy - a lot of rich loamy blackberry power, wonderful velvet and good flinty, somewhat briarlike finish. A very impressive sourcing for syrah, to me this is what cali syrah should taste like when this grape is planted in an A+ site. It reminds me of Mollydooker's efforts, but with greater balance and more restraint.

Pop and pour. Quite dark and the bottle is filled with sediment. Quite ripe captivating aromas of stewed plums and crushed red pepper. Full, rich and luxurious palate with figs, smoked meats (think spare ribs), charred earth and a long, very smooth finish. Another deal during a last bottle marathon @ $19.

Needs an hour in the decanter to soften and fruit to open. Good tannic grip.

I'm usually a fan of T-Vine Syrah, but this vintage was much thinner than others. Drinkable but uninspired.

Mellow to the point of being thin and boring. Not a very refined syrah. Got its butt kicked next to a 2009 Priorat.
