Day 2: It took a long time for the funk to blow off, and the nose still full of mushroom and forest floor. Medium to full bodied, fully integrated tannins, and then the most pure cherry flavors presented with grace and balance, some spice notes, and a long satisfying finish. Worth the wait.

A little funky on the nose, but that blew off. Ruby red highlights. Medium bodied, bright red cherries, lightly spiced, well integrated sweet tannins, mint, and a medium finish. Lots of life in this one, once it woke up.

- Aromas of tobacco. It's balanced and has flavours of black currant and alcohol with a medium/full body. Linear texture with a medium finish - Decanted for two hours. A little hot on entry but smooths out to nice cedar and vanilla oak notes. Nice effort overall and decent QPR.

Probably drank this too soon -- the drinking window hadn't been posted for this vintage when I entered it, and I didn't check CT before I opened it. Very tight and concentrated at first , but it opened up somewhat as it sat it the decanter and then the glass. Definitely up to the standards for quality I expect from Wellington.
