Not a bad weekday red to enjoy while watching the news or balancing the checkbook. Some spice on the nose, but not particularly pronounced. Soft tannins and a bit flabby on the palate. Medium finish. Not terrible... in fact, better than I expected.

Berry and wood on the nose. A bit of a black cherry flavor and a hint plum. Smooth velvety tannins. Even know it had a light body, I think I'm getting this one again!

Bought out of morbid curiosity. Pop n pour. Dark fruits, a bit syrupy/confected, with some brambly brush. Fruit carries on in to the mouth, where the tannins are firm and grippy but almost a bit astringent. Missing some flesh in the mid-palate. Watery, high yield grapes, that required some manipulation to come out "correct"? Low oak, which is a plus. This is a drinkable Merlot for weekday pizza, but there are similar performing wines a few dollars cheaper.

In my quest for a drinkable merlot under $10, I think I found a player. Nice color in the glass with a nose full of deep dark fruit. Nice taste of black cherries and a hint of plum in the mouth with tannins to support the flavors and good structure. A medium finish.

Smooth spicy nose. Soft and squishy palate with a finish of coffee.
