  • Ruby, slighty dusty looking. A rich nose, quite sweet, ripe crushed strawberries. Some undergrowth developmnt coming through. On the palate, moderate acidity with good lift and freshness.Pronounced falovour, even more so after a while in the glass. Sweet, strawberries, earth and undergrowth. A very complete wine and one seemingly in a sweet spot between the first flush of fruit and the more developed seconary notes. Really very good especially for a village wine.

  • Pale slightly dustry crimson. Sweet nose, ripe strawberries, quite pronounced intensity. Sweet strawberries, rasberries. Nice freshness and moderate acidity. Aromas developed in the glass, bur remained primary fruit rather than tertiary. Plenty of life left and development to come.

  • Ruby with some evolvement at the rim. The nose a little subdued but notes of strawberries and undergrowth. The palate was very pronounced.Moderate acidity but nice freshness. Swet entry, ripe red summer fruits and berries. Quite evolved for a 2001 - strong vegetal and undergrowth flavour, quite lush and full. A note of truffles. Tastes of a much grander wine at maturity in a good vintage. Very good. Finish slightly short.

  • I have had some amazing older bottles of Jean Tardy, and have been chasing that since. The 2001 gets better in the bottle, and tastes notably better after sixty minutes. The nose is open and expressive, very fragrant and bright cheery with a slight metallic edge. In the mouth, it’s a different wine, subdued and not nearly as expressive as the nose and a short-medium finish. I was certainly more impressive after three hours, but I don’t expect wonders in the long term.

  • A nice nose of pinot fruit with characteristic Burgundy "stink." Medium body, low acid and a sweet mid-palate finishing, strangely enough, with vanilla. Smooth finish with moderate tannins. This will get better, but is approachable now. (K&L Burgundy tasting).
