Friday Night Brown Bagger (R&D's): Double blind. Dark color. Chocolate, black raspberry and earth notes. Medium-bodied. Black currant and maybe just a bit of plum as well, with earth and iodine as well. Reminds me of wine D. 93+ pts. From a magnum that was split...very sneaky! (J&J)

Friday Night Brown Bagger (R&D's): Double blind. Aromas of black fruit give way to red berry, along with iodine and herb notes. Abundant fruit on the palate with iodine and perhaps a hint of forest floor as well. Lingering finish. Guessed 2009 Bordeaux. From a magnum that was split. (J&J)

From magnum. Double decanted about 90 minutes before service.
Very dark red. Lots of tannic structure that blew off with air. The acid was completely in check and balanced. Lots of red fruits on the palate. An outstanding wine with a bunch of tertiary flavors, but it'll last a few more years.

The wine is still drinking very nicely, with red fruit, currant, spice and a hint of earth.
