  • Nose: Intense darker red fruit with a very slight earthy, loamy undertone.

Palate: Bright and crisp with fresh strawberry / cherry / pomegranate quality. There is a deft balance of the fruit and acidity that gives it a tart, silky mouthfeel accentuated by fine, almost indiscernible tannins.

Finish: Decidedly long and astringent. The acidity is strong here that leads to dried fruit finish that lasts for days. A small amount of greener notes add a nice contrast to the pure fruit.

Thoughts: I'd think a winemaker knows exactly what they want and how to get it when you can notice a similar thread weaving its way through all of their wines. As soon as I put the wine to my lips I knew it was a Harrington (well that and the label). It's an amazing balance that plays like a jazz ensemble, with each individual component adding a piece to the whole but occasionally getting their own time to shine.

  • Tart grapefruit notes and medium+ acidity. Basic Anderson Valley -- nothing to write home about. Would have liked more fruit.

  • Dusty dark ruby red color with light orange limb.
Nose is bright ripe rasberry and grapefruit.
Taste is bright ripe tarte rasberry with hint of orange.
Finish is tingly, slightly muddy red fruits with some slightly off grapefruit notes.
Not the wine I would have with lamb or steak. Seems to be better matched with citrus flavored foods. Salmon with lemon comes to mind. A salad with pomegranate seeds.

  • Pretty and exuberant nose of red cherries with a dash of baking spices. Light to medium bodied with medium+ acidity. Sweet, juicy red fruit, cherries and strawberries, lifted by nice acidity. A kiss of oak spice toward the finish. Tasted blind this was clearly California pinot but an elegant example.

  • Middle weight, balanced coastal Pinot built for the table. Nice QPR, too. The nose shows prototypical new world Pinot spice, floral and red fruits. Elegant, fine texture, medium acidity, integrated structure. The fruit shows the CA sunshine, but isn't at all dark or roasted. The finish has a bit of that spicy cola quality without being sticky/carmelized. Understated, focused, pure and pretty, wish I had more to drink over the next couple years.
