A serious structured barbaresco. Dark, dark, dark cherry. Ripe fruit but fitting for the vintage, still very tannic and dry. A bit of leather, some earth, sandalwood. Not much on the floral side, more tar. Traditional. Very likeable. But not for nebb noobs.

Flowery nose. Ripe fruit (mostly red), wood shavings, and light spice flavors. Medium body. A slight sweetness in the background, which was unusual in a Barbaresco in my experience but went really well with the rest of the flavor profile.

From a 375, purchased at a restaurant for $24. A hell of a good deal. Firm, dry tannins gave excellent structure, and in conjunction with acidity, this went very well with lamb tagine. Some tar, but mostly floral and herbal. Rose, menthol, mint, licorice, and dusty/sour cherry. Some good depth provided by black fruits on the midpalate. Best immediately upon pour from bottle, as the wine flattened with air. K&L Bistro in Sebastopol nailed this wine list addition.

Soft and smooth red fruit with dry hay. Balanced acidity and very food friendly. Great match with pasta and sausage tossed with fresh tomato sauce.

Ruby red with a burnt orange edge; dark fruit, some ripe cherries and oak; Medium bodied, very dry, tart, strong tannins; nice long and clean finish.=
