70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot. 27,000 bottles made. Tasted from magnum. Brilliant dark-ruby. Forthright nose with less intensity than 2007 although still powerful. Dominating aromas of undergrowth, wet earth mingle with red fruit and yellow bellpepper. Palate is fresh, acidity more pronounced and gives a fresher feel and more vibration. Black fruit and toast. Coating tannins, leave a slightly drying sensation. More elegance and energy in this wine than 2007. Toasty, coffee notes dominate the finish after which spice and balsamic appear. Long. Tasted at producer's event in Milan.

Tuscan wines - dinner/tasting with fellow enthusiasts. (Maceda Restaurant - Varna): From a magnum, P&P - ready almost immediately. this is developed, typical forest floor mixed with some dark fruits, lovely Tuscan presence. Good acidity and restrained muscular body.
CS/Merlot 70/30, but made in an elegant style.
