  Really delicious Chambolle! Wonderful nose right out of the gates (PNP). Not quite barnyard but definitely some funk and forest floor notes accompanied the classic Chambolle floral and red fruit aromas. The floral and red fruit themes continued on the palate, which was smooth and silky, with really nice length. Overall this held up well over the course of 90 minutes. Not sure if this has a long life ahead but is probably a safe bet in the near to medium term. I’m really digging all of the 2009 red burgs I’ve been having of late (which have generally been village and 1er level). 93+

  Although it had great mouthfeel, this wine was a bit closed and flat at first (even after decanting), but 30-60 minutes later it opened very nicely and showed beautifully with an excellent finish.

  Dark fruit, earthy mineralogy, balanced acid for beautifully structured complex wine. Glad I have more!
