  Earthy, delicious. Dark fruit for an Etna Rosso. Great with rustic Italian food. Solid QPR in my opinion.

I was excited by the prospect of sampling a nerello with a few years in the bottle. While I loved both Tenuta Della wines, this Etna rosso from Bonaccorsi was a bit of a let down. It really lacked all of the intensity on the nose, pallate and finish that was so intriguing about the Tenuta Della wines. I don't know if the lack of intensity is due to an extra 3-4 years in the bottle over the others, or if this wine just never had that level of intensity to begin with. This is still an excellent food wine (I'm enjoying it with a NY steak as I type this). Good acid and tannis, but at twice the price of the 2010 entry level terre nere from Tenuta, I think this one is not the greatest QPR. I decanted about 2 hrs prior to drinking. I'll post a follow up if it changes significantly on day 2.

  Bottiglia affasciante. Rubino brillante tendente al granato. Naso di macchia mediterranea, ribes rosso, sbuffi minerali (pietra lavica, ma forse e solo suggestione). In bocca è di grande sapiditá, con tannini un po invadenti. Finale lunghissimo, con lo stesso sapore e asperità che si prova dopo aver mangiato ribes rossi.
