Liked it better this time...wife in particular, she might even be pushing 91. Did give it a good 45 min in decanter this time...perhaps that helped it more than I would have anticipated.

The nose showed intense cherry and cranberry sauce with exotic spices, menthol, mountain herbs and just the perfect hint of barnyard. On the palate notes of cranberry, raspberry, dark chocolate and black licorice saturated the tastebuds with a rich textural mouthfeel and zesty acidity that kept it fresh and lively. The finish was long with palate staining fruits as hints of fragrant herbs filled the senses.
This was big and rich yet fresh and zesty with all the Etna character I crave. I enjoyed it quite a bit and highly recommend it.

Fresh and chalky with lots of slowly maturing, rich, gamy iron-tinged Etna fruit

Great texture, elegance and balanced intensity. Lots of mineral character from the volcanic soils.
