I can't agree with the low scoring reviews here. True this syrah was not particularly complex, however the fruit was surprisingly vibrant for a 2007, which speaks to the quality with which it was made. Really not faded at all. Quite lovely in fact. Perhaps it just needed a few years to mellow and come around.

Slow-O 1 hour. I just can't get into this wine. I finding it lacking varietal typicity and I'm really not getting a sense of place, either. Candied, totally round and flat out gulp-able. Nothing distinguishing here, but a decent party wine, I suppose. 14,2% abv.

Candied and simple at first, but managed to gain some complexity by the last glass. Still, what little complexity is managed, did not make up for the mediocre structure, simple tannins and low-ish acids.
overnight, this was in the fridge; showing as nicely but no better than night #1

Has got to be one of Saviah's best wines. 2007 is better than the 2006, oak held in better check. Dark, dark purple. Flint carries across a nose and palate of cassis with cloves and touches of cinnamon. Lasting finish, leaves you wanting more. Not jammy or overripe.
