Very nice, I think this will evolve further, still no real tertiary notes. Very much what I would expect of a Courcel in 02. Good power, black fruits, spice, mineral and smoke.

Strawberry fields forever. This wine was over the top...fresh strawberry preserves wafted through the air and the palette. The only thing missing to complete the package would have been a longer finish. Nearing peak. Perhaps another 3-5 years max on this one.

Although this has plenty of underlying muscle it is indeed open for business and quite generous. Notes of sweet red currants, plums, cedar, espresso and cured meats. Nice volume and shape in the mouth with good earthy detail to the finish.

TB: Not sure about decant time for this wine as we did not take it to the tasting. Very nice burg showing rich red fruits on the nose and palate. Nice acidity and a little tannic bite. This was a bit richer than I've come to expect from red burgs, but nice nonetheless.

(Courcel Pommard 1er Cru "Les Fremiers") Soaring aromas of dark berry fruit, spice and dried dark flowers. The palate was lacey and rich with great purity of fruits and tangy acids. As the meal went on it became more complex and the finish extended. A lovely wine.

Drinking quite well. Opening up very nicely. Layered and well balanced. Fruit is full of flavor and rich.
