Monthly tasting club LTC 2018-01 No real theme (@ SO): The bouquet is slightly reductive and has dry honey impressions. On the palate aromatic, caramel, medium plus acidity, some vanilla and some bitterness in the finish.

New producer and vineyard for me. Medium weight, concentrated, but precise and elegant. Matchstick sulphur and white flowers on the nose. On the palate a touch of oak, white fruits with a tangy lemon mineral bite at the end. Medium finish and complexity. For the $20 paid, this certainly outperformed and lived up to its 1er cru designation.

This was really rich and round with opulent ripe citrus and white fruit flavors. Touches of minerality but really the bold oak took most of the palate. Tones of butter really kept this from getting too exciting. That being said, this had a great streak of acidity and was fairly well balanced. Not my style of white burgundy. Might be interesting to re-visit in a few years. 87+ pts. Drink now - 2015
