Slight reductiveness/VA on the nose (some said nail polish) that doesn't blow off but also is not unpleasant. Candied cherry and caramel with some heat on the finish. I would have expected more heat from a 15.7% ETOH wine, but this was quite balanced.

Rarely do I assign a number score to a wine but this one deserves the attention. This wine continues to knock people's socks off when brought dinner parties with other top Oregon PNs. Even at 15.7% alcohol, this is tremendously balanced with no heat. Drinking very well now.

A phenomenal bottle of wine. I wish that Mike could duplicate whatever he did with this vintage. Has everything you would want in an Oregon PN (forest floor, cherry, cola, etc.). A viscous and plush mouth feel with a lengthy finish. Very balanced.

Spectacular bottle of wine; wonderful nose of cherries and plum, fruity, yet with a hint of spice on one's palate; beautiful mouth feel, full, complex with a great lingering after taste of a well-developed Oregon Pinot; quite surprised that it was an 09, but, wow, do I wish I had more of this in my cellar; I believe that this wine is indicative of just what Mike Hallock can do with the Chehalem Pinot Noir grown grape!
