Dark and brooding, yes, and with nice coffee and chocolate components, but I didn't love it..... especially with how much I enjoy other beers from Dogfish Head. That said, I wish I had another bottle to compare against..... Or, it could have just been my mood after watching the Timbers dump a match to the Galaxy....

This has really come around with a year in the bottle...Beautiful scents of coffee grounds, toffee, and baking chocolate. On the palate flavors of 90% cacao roll in with hints of espresso, cedar, tobacco, and beef jerkey along a medium long finish.

Dueling tête de cuvées (Miyake in Portland, Maine): Dense and dark with hints of mocha and char on the nose and flavors of coffee and cacao on the intense and full bodied beer.
