  • Solid chard oak in pretty good balance

  • Color: medium straw yellow. Bouquet of honeysuckle, citrus, butterscotch and oak. Palate showed off some nice structure; sweet fruit framed by lively acidity with great focus. Yeah, there's a little more oak than really needed but I think the mass of built-in fruit carries it well. Butter, honey, grapefruit, and toffee (and oak). I'd buy this again in a younger vintage.

  • Golden yellow. Aromas of apples, hint of citrus, oak and minerals. Palate follows with a nice depth, spice, and minerals. Long finish with intermingling of apples, lemon, spice and minerals that linger. Nicely done.

  • Made by the Varner brothers. Gold color. Opened for > 1 hr. Initially, apples and wood. As it warmed and with air, still muted with hints of apple , mint, herbs, and some wood notes. Palate has tart apples with wood accented herbs and minerals that follows on to a good long finish. Not sure if this is shutting down but definitely feels disjointed. 88 for now but just might need time. 14.5% abv 88 pts Drank this again on day 2 and 3. Much better and well knitted. Fruit has become much more expressive and barely perceptible wood with a nice acidity and some minerality. Nicely done and will probably get better. 90.
