Who says you can't age zinfandel? This was really enjoyable, port-like but dry. Slight bricking but otherwise excellent color, this was brimming with black pepper, brambly blackberry, kirsch and fig flavors. Like a vintage port, the heat on the back end is noticeable but warming and pleasant.

Never had a 25 year old Zinfandel, and I must now wonder: why not?! This was exceptional. Deep garnet color had intense bricking, serious brown at the edges. Nevertheless, fruit was abundant and delicious. Tannin well integrated, aroma more complex than any other Zin I’ve ever had. Spicy aromatics, cinnamon, palate was packed with an array of fruit. Spot on, what a delight.

Wow! Fabulous. Didn't know what to expect but this zin was fantastic. No browning, great color; very comparable to the 97 Black Sears that I drank 5 years ago. This wine can go for a while; it's been perfectly cellared for 15 yers. Plenty of frut and it really was open, very soft and a long finish.

1994 Turley blind horizontal tasting (Our home): One fo the best wines of the evening for most of the group. Tied for first. Blasted out of the glass with pepper. Outstanding color and depth of flavor on the palate. How long could this wine last. Probably another 5-15 years. Outstanding.
