Very nice, can be consumed as an aperitif or as a dessert wine with a dessert that is not too sweet. Bracing acidity, just beginning to show secondary notes of diesel and bakeshop. Will last another 10 years easily.

Honey and sweet apple and apricot aromas with a hint of ginger ale. Citrus (grapefruit) and ripe fruit flavors and subtle honey and sweet herbs. Well balanced acidic and sweet notes and a long, pleasant finish. Worked well with medium-spicy Asian food.

Recent tastes and drinks; 5/14/2011-5/18/2011: Deep yellow gold. Apples and pears on the nose with a bit of cheese rind and a whisper of petrol. Wonderfully complex. The palate is a mix of bright stone fruit combined with a creamy lemon curd. Medium bodied with great lift as the wine takes on air. The citrus components really take over at the back of the palate through the long finish.
Good stuff here!

Complex and tasty Riesling Auslese. Medium-deep yellow color and nice aromas of honey and ripe apricot. Honey and ripe fruit flavors with subtle sweet herbs. Well balanced with plenty of acidity to counter the med-dry sweetness. Long, sweet/tangy finish. Quite pleasant.

Haven't had one of these in a few years. In the interim it turned from an adequate cheap Riesling into an aged wine with real complexity. Who knew?
