  This was my first Freisa; and my first Giuseppe Rinaldi; and I must say I was quite impressed by both. I suspect more the producer than the grape, but having no other to compare I can't say for sure, but this was quite good. The nose was incredibly reminiscent of nebbiolo; floral, tobacco, tar, bright red berry fruit. The palate was a bit more rustic than some really good nebbiolos, but overall it was really tasty. Nice acidity, good structure with noticeable, but not imposing tannins. I'd buy this again in a heartbeat if I can ever find because it was delicious.

  What a great freisa. I don't remember having one with this depth of flavor. Nose has menthol and a bit of tar. Palate is bright, feels almost fizzy even though it isn't, with a contrasting dark berry note. A definite hit of tannins comes on early and lingers. This clearly is a youngster, which is kind of amazing given that it is already 8 years old.
