A private lunch (Restaurant De Watergang, Amsterdam, NL): Wonderfully bright and pure and precise, floral and fresh, crushed red berries, mildly grippy tannins, tight and youthful but develops a creamy texture, stalky energy, chalky finish, very good length.

Very, very good. This is a label I buy every year without hesitation; this year, I'm tempted to get more than the six I already have. It's that much of a winner, already. And as fans of this wine/variety know, it's only getting better from here (most of my bottles, from Burlotto and others, rest for 3-6 years). Medium-bodied, crunchy, very fine tannins, and a cool, earthy finish. Such a good year for this bottling, wow. 14,0% abv. Buy all you can find. Age some. highly recommended
Expressive nose displaying ripe but cool red fruit, cherry compote, dry cherry, strawberry jam, ink, animal, cinnamon, smoke and crushed rocks. Very good concentration, nicely layered ripe but fresh red fruit, cool and silky, medium acidity, strong mineral, noticeable but fine tannins and a medium long finish. Although there is generous fruit, the overall impression is cool and lean. This reminds me a cooler expression version of Barbera.
