Community Tasting Notes (4) Median Score: 89 points

  • Very bold nose of sweet berries and faint hints of cedar and vanilla. On the attack the Zin is prominent, it is very smooth with huge vanilla and dried black cherries almost Port like, but it doesn't have any of the residual sweetness on the mid palate which is where the other varietals come through. The finish has a bit of raisin but ends up pretty much like a really nice Old Vine Zin. Reminds me of a Turley Zin but at 1/2 the price. I for one am excited that I have 2 more bottles!

  • Indeed, very, very ripe... port comes to mind, with aromas of raisins and vanilla... although, a juicy, mouthwatering acidity keeps the wine from being simply jammy syrup. The wine is not bad or poorly made, it is simply made for a certain audience.. I would only recommend this if you enjoy port...

  • This is just not a good bottle of wine and I hate to say it. There is a potent sweetness to this juice that makes it pretty much undrinkable. Cherry cough syrup comes to mind, and as bummed as I am to say it, I poured this one down the drain. Too bad considering the first edition of this blend was quite good.

I'm confident that things will be corrected in the future.

  • Slightly sweet (?) and so not to my taste it isn't even funny. This isn't remotely as good as the other Field Recordings wines... very disappointing.
