  • Beautiful aromatics. Woodsy orange zest, sweet fig, warm croissant, a little beef broth and mint all in the nose with just a hint of sous bois, but it comes off clean and lean. As it opens the buttery croissant really shines in the nose and a slight spice begins to show.

Brick-Burgundy color with a slight orange rim. Just a touch under medium weight. Velvety round texture, woodsy mushroom and broth on the palate, hints of sous bois as well. Fruit is maybe a tertiary flavor at best, but hints at fig or perhaps anise as well as just the slightest hint of spice. After an hour and a half to two hours it all comes together. The body, while still on the lighter side of medium, fells round and plush from front to rear and while still maintaining a savory note, there is a slight sweetness of candied fig and peach pith that seem to take center stage followed by delicate, spicy tannins on the exquisite finish.

Quite a delicate and beautiful wine once it has time to open and drinking well now.
