"Les Enfants Terribles" is a 1950 French film directed by Jean-Pierre Melville and based on Jean Cocteau's novel of the same name.
After six years from harvest, stored at a fairly constant 70 degrees Fahrenheit, I really like this wine. The wine was ready-to-drink upon opening, has a mouth full of flavor, and, after-opening, lasted for two days. I heartily recommend this; the trick is, though, that you have to let it age.

I don't know, but I guess I may have just had a really good bottle. Ready to drink now - no further upswing and unclear how long it will hold at this plateau - this is a beautiful if heavy southern Rhone red. Mourvedre is the star here, and there is a fascinating bell pepper/olive/tobacco/kitchen spice background atop of a base of deep lightly stewed blue and purple fruit. The finish is nice if not long. Enjoy this now - it was good 3 years ago and it is great now too, though very much changed.

50 percent mouvedre and 50 percent syrah. Aged 9 months in tank and oak barrels. This wine was ready to drink from the moment I pulled out the cork. Plenty of fruit - my kids smelled it and said cherry, strawberry, watermelon (?) and blueberries. Mostly cherry. My wife added oak. Curiously, after two days in the refrigerator the smell and taste of mouvedre emerged. Anyway, there is real value here.

Night #1: somewhat harsh, and very disappointing for this producer. Night #2: now it's drinking like a classic southern Rhone. The mouvedre is adding a nice dimension to this, of briary, brambly fruit. Night #3: should have drunk up the previous night. Oh well...
