Another good, complex and medium to full bodied sparkler with good acidity and minerality, a touch of salt and lots of lemon lime and kiwi in perfect balance; again, so much better than the corked version last week.

(Henri Goutorbe Champagne Grand Cru Brut Millésimé) Very light yellow color with lots of tiny bubbles; tart apple, tart pear, lightly yeasty nose; tasty, tart apple, tart pear, mineral palate; medium-plus finish (67% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay)
(Henri Goutorbe Millésime Brut) ($67.00) All Aÿ, 67/33% PN/CH, disgorged 6/10. It’s like the NV but higher toned, more lemon blossom, blueberry – Aÿ at its silkiest and most transparent, an instance where the lightness of ’04 is a positive splash of vigor and buoyancy. A hot-weather classic Champagne.

Drinking beautifully. Clearly a PN based champagne.

Upping my original rating after having with food. Great compliment with bacon, asparagus and shrimp. Fantastic food champagne; intensifies flavors.

Not too sweet, not too dry. Crisp. Light bubbles. Nothing very prominent.
