  • good acidity but less tanning, simpler aroma compare to the 89 Emmanuel Rouget Parantoux. Not sure the potential for further aging.

  • Next to 89 CrosP, with this being the clear winner with soaring cherry, red and purple fruit, violet and mixed floral perfume in the most classical Jayer style. Ultra spicy and sweet with many layers. Somewhat cool with ample acidity, needs at least five to ten more years before I should pop my next bottle. 95

  • Original 12-bottle case. Vintage made by HJ. Thought it was tired at opening, but with air it really comes alive, as do most HJ wines, pure, ethereal, lifted and dimensional. Vosne village displays slightly thinner weight than Echezeaux, but certainly beyond appellation, and more minty, grassy character, even slightly herbal, which may be attributed to vintage. If I have to compare, the palate is not singing at the same level of HJ wines (iykyk), even though it is very close in style. Overall, a sweet & hedonistic treat. 94-95
