Colgin Dinner (RPM Seafood - Chicago IL): An excellent Vosne village with great depth and nearly 1er Cru density. Red and black cherry with very savoy spice. A real success in this vintage with few wines this approachable.

Boy this needs time, or at least air. Initially it was automatically intriguing with violets and spicy blue fruit, but when swallowed the wine drops off the face of the earth with no finish. Aeration improved the finish the the palate is on the simpler side. The aromatics reminded me of Manischewitz kosher wine at one point. It delivers village quality at a non-village price point. After a 2014 Echezeaux and this, I suspect an overrated producer.

Burgundy Trip 2019 Day 1; 11/13/2019-11/25/2019: (Domaine Emmanuel Rouget - Flagey-Echézeaux) Barrel tasting with Guillaume Rouget. A broad-ranging nose offers up notes of spice, mixed berries, mineral, veg and wood. Lively and ripe. 89+
