Bought by the glass off of a restaurant wine list to accompany savory herb-roasted marrow bones as dessert. Nose of cherries, raisins and pistachios. Color was dark purple in bowl and lightening to a pinkish garnet on the rim, with a small clear halo. In the mouth: deep stewed and sweetened plums and cherry cough drops with the alcohol noticeable but pleasantly so. This was a simple port consistent with its inexpensive offering on the list. No one would confuse it with a properly-aged true vintage port. The match worked with the marrow bones.

(Ramos Pinto Late Bottled Vintage Port) Unfiltered; bottled 2009. After a bouquet of fresh lavender and herbs, the palate exhibits chewy plum and boysenberry fruit, with more elegance than the ’04, though not quite as much weight. What it lacks in concentration it makes up for with grippy, chalky tannins and a delicious, harmonious, long-lasting aftertaste. Unquestionably the finest young Ramos Pinto LBV I’ve ever tasted, this has a near-perfect structure that should ensure 15-18 years of aging. LBV: The Other Vintage Port

Nice color, very clean and simple, good alcohol used, seems a bit dryer than i would desire. Decent but not exciting and >$25 it is pricy.
