15.2% abv. Recent auction purchase. Did not try this in its youth, but this is no longer the fruit bomb that it once was, based on reading the older notes. This was actually drinking quite nicely, with the once boisterous fruit fading into a more elegant presentation. Not really any overt oak left at this point, if it indeed did have some (a 2012 I tasted a couple of years ago was way too oaky for my palate). Flavor profile tasted to me like a Syrah/Cabernet Sauv blend. I'd guess that the fruit will continue to fade as this ages more, but it's not dried out yet, and should be enjoyable for another couple of years at least.

- Brick color with slow forming legs and aromas of strawberry jam, dusty and cherry. It's balanced and has flavours of raspberry and strawberry with a medium body. Coarse texture with a medium finish - Slight tart cranberry finish.

Popped and poured through Venturi. Dark red. Decent aromas of dark red fruits. Very big wine. Lots of forward fruit which is encapsulated by mildly bitter greenish tannins. Finish is long but slightly bitter. If this were a craft beer, I would say the hops were great, but being red wine, I would say....let it sit awhile and see if the tannins soften and the fruit integrate.

Note: I use the recommended scale, so 85 represents a very good wine.
Nice Calif, cab blend. A bit chocolaty upon opening, reasonably well-balanced through the bottle.
