What the heck. This is a Pinot Grigio aged on the skins. Based on varietal, this is labeled a California white wine. However, it is very red with a lot of sentiment. I'm not sure this is drinkable, meaning I do not know when you would drink it. That's not to say it is bad, per se, but when would you drink this? Huge alcohol at nearly 17%. It's basically red sherry. Oxidized note dominates, with honey nut. There is some buried fruit on the palate. Definite conversation started but for this price and at this alcohol %, again I ask, when would you drink this?

unique. Oxidized sherry-like nose, but only a touch of this on the palate. Also had genmaicha tea on the nose. On the palate, there is nutmeg and strawberry shrub.

I opened this after dinner on 9/10/12. It had a pungent, oxidized bouquet of toasted nuts, toffee, chocolate, cinnamon and spice. The palate was mild and dry with flavors of toasted nuts, burnt toast, toffee, chocolate and spice. This was weird stuff!

Perfect with duck paella, perfect. Pretty much identical to when I had it in 2011.
