reasonably ok at this point. soft and drinkable. nothing complex or surprising going on here. this particular bottle didn't age as well as some of the other past-their-peak avv wines i've accidentally held onto for extra years, but it showed well enough against another "table cab" i was trying that i ended up dumping that bottle and drinking this instead.

A little funky and closed down on the nose after 15m of air (note, it's well aged, so shouldn't need much). On tasting, teeth are bombarded by grippy tannin. Not the harshness, these are well integrated, but the wine is clawing at my enamel. Further sips reveal some nondescript red fruit, but not a lot and oh man, those tannins! After spitting, a major hit of green pepper appears, which is an odd way to finish. Still trying to clean that film off my teeth though.

Nicely balanced wine with fruit and oak complimenting each other and tannins adding structure. lighter body and long finish. Served with grilled salmon.

Very good. Grilled steak with mushroom sauce, baked potato, green beans. Will be enjoying this again soon.
