Bing cherry, black cherry, earth and mushrooms on the nose. Light on it's feet, a bit racy with med/med(+) acidity and bright red fruits. There is a slight hollowness in the mid palate, but the slightly astringent tannins show up with some air to give lift and mouthfeel and add to the nicely red fruited finish. This is a relatively simple and straightforward food wine, that can still be contemplated and really enjoyed. It is in the sweet spot of my favorite style of wines these days...just super solid, great value, no nonsense, a sensible wine that is made correctly and in appreciation of the terroir of Bordeaux. Drink up, not gonna get any better, but will last through 2016.

This bottle was just ever-so-slightly corked, but that barely detracted from the attraction. Good, honest claret with great substance yet also good freshness. Just great with lamb on a Sunday night.

Nice black cherry fruit and some plum on the nose, along with wet earth and old leather. The palate shows med intensity black fruits, med intensity tannins that are beautifully grippy and astringent in a nice way, med length finish. Lots of wine for the money. Tasty with food, and drinking beautifully now through 2015. Significantly better than my last bottle a year ago. Nice pick, Lyle (Fass Selections).

A very appealing, non-spoofy claret. Great acidity and a classic black fruit profile made for a very good match with spaghetti with andouille and tomato sauce. Good value for the money.
