  • Decanted for about an hour. Pours a vibrant purple in the glass - lots of life still in this bottle. This smells "right", like damp forest floor, cassis, black cherry, and a mix of baking spices. The bouquet is quite strong, another indicator that this has more life in it. This Bordeaux has loads of flavor too, with that dark fruit component coming through on the palate, held in place by firm tannin and dusty earth. I loved the way each flavor was integrating into the overall tapestry of the wine. The finish is long and gentle, ending nicely on a whiff of cocoa dust. At about six years old it's drinking nicely, but will further refine over the next five years. Great QPR too.

  • Very good again, decanted for an hour and the red berries and cassis integrated perfectly with the silky tannins and vanilla/woody notes.
