As always, a perfect pairing with pastel de choclo. Evolved nose of kirsch, raspberry liqueur, roasted herbs. This is a wonderful simulacrum of old Chateauneuf! A bit heady on the nose and light in color (typical old CdP traits!), This is loaded with roasted cherries and herbs on the palate. Tasted blind, I would swear this was old Cdp (older than 1999)! Still quite full-bodied, but not at all sweet, this has evolved wonderfully and is certainly at its best now, though showing no signs of decline. 94 df 9.5

Popped and poured.Brickening and slight browning at the rim in the glass.Nice dark slightly port like nose.Medium bodied, smooth palate showing rather vibrant dark fruit and some dried fruit as well, reminding a bit of aged amarone or port wine.Slight liquorice.Firm but gentle tannins.Very enjoyable, and still alive and kicking.

Better than the last bottle. Acid had integrated. Good raspberry, sage, vanilla, lengthy finish.
