  Almost a bday dinner (Chez Bruce, London): Frankly we expected so much more especially given the terroir and vintage. The wine felt muted, closed and giving very little and in a way a bit dull. Hopefully with time this will develop but for now not really much more to talk about. 89-90

  Pale, garnet color.
  
  Developing nose with medium(+) intensity. Bruised strawberry, slightly dried cherry, nutmeg, damp forest floor, mushroom, decaying rose petal, asian spice, rusty nails, fudge and some spicy oak. Kinda heavy on the fruit, fairly complex and rather earthy.
  
  Medium bodied with medium tannins and medium acidity. Classic fluffy '09 with generous fruit and soft structure. Medium(+) intensity with dried cherry, bruised strawberry, rose hip, mushroom, slight coffee and oak. Medium(+) finish.
  
  This came out as a bit of a disappointment to me. The nose is fine but the palate really suffer from the lack of structure. It's a bit too fluffy. This bottle was absolutely enjoyable today but could definitely keep for another 5-7 years. Score based on today's impression.

  Dark, somewhat brooding. Smell and taste of damp forest floor. Excellent balance. Much more substance than the '06 that we had last year. We have one more, and will wait at least 5 years.
