Ripe raspberry and coffee on the nose with a touch of green. On the palate there is a lot of cherry. Reasonably long finish but with a slightly sour sulfuric note.

Pale ruby/garnet. Fresh strawberry smoky nose. Med + acidity with upfront juicy raspberry. Pepper is evident and the finish is quite long. Its relative youthfulness keeps the savouryness in check and allows the fruit to shine. This will change with more age.
Having said that, the wine has good balance and is drinking well now.

Enjoyed a second bottle of this. The structure had softened a little but there's a lattice of fine tannin still. Lots of sweet black cherry fruit upfront but a savoury finish with roasted coffee notes. This is a big wine but it's well proportioned: ripe but not over-ripe and well defined fruit. Good value - better than many £20+ Central Otago Pinots I've tasted - and should drink well for the next three years at least.

2011 Sydney International Wine Show - Top 100 tasting (Menzies Hotel, Sydney): {screwcap, 14.1%} Generous chocolatey nose, with a touch of leafy green. The palate is sweetly ripe however, with moderate acid and soft powdery tannins. It’s light-medium bodied, with a medium length finish, but fails to make much impression from the mid-palate back. Straightforward effort.

Great Pinot. Definitely not an Otago fruit bomb. 17/20.
