Black purple in color. Nose of red fruit developed depth over time. Nice blue black fruit on palate, some berry notes. Tannins still prominant on finish, but really delicious when paired with food, We had lamb and salami apps. WOTN vs, 2 WA malbecs.

This Malbec from Abacela in the Umpqua Valley is a deep dark ruby colored wine. Abacela specializes in Spanish varietals generally but the Malbec is very good. A big nose, black and red fruit, white pepper, vanilla and ginger on the end. The wine is big in the mouth, full bodied with mouth numbing tannin that is long lasting and delightful through and through.

Bitter, tannic, lacking fruit, very green and tart. ?Perhaps the fumes from the new tasting room (newly lacquered and varnished wood) imparted some of the chemical elements I kept picking up on this wine, thus I am deeming this flawed.

Prune blueberries and cherry. Taste like sherry. Earthy mushrooms. Vanilla.
