NobleRottersSydney - Christmas Lunch 2014 (Greg's place): {cork, 13.5%} Better (fresher) than last year’s bottle ; dense and thick with spiced gewurz flavours; ripe but not really presenting as overtly sweet; needs a big hefty dish to go with it probably. Drink up.

{cork, 13.5%} Deep yellow/gold. Aged nose of caramel & honey; the varietal characteristics are somewhat subdued with age. The palate is fairly luscious although barely off-dry; it has a burnished copper-like quality to it somehow; it remains medium/full-bodied, but has the structural acid to hold it up. Decently long finish too, although there's not a huge deal of complexity; but it's sailing along pretty well for 15 years. Drink soon.

Deep yellow colour. Pronounced varietal character in the nose with perfume, roses, spice, some exotic fruit and honey. Sweetish and slightly developed impression. Off-dry, quite spicy, slightly oily, with ripe yellow fruit and exotic fruit, some honey, quite intense aromas, just a bit of alcoholic bite, and a long, spicy aftertaste. Has developed quite well for its age (75 cl bottle). Residual sugar 35 g/l according to the producer.

Overt, voluptuous and sexy. Aromas of Turkish delight and tropical fruits. Fat and rich in the mouth with a touch of residual sugar and plenty of depth and presence, one glass is enough.
