As close to a perfect wine one can drink. Perhaps the best bottle of wine i have ever had. Simply unbelievable and can probably last another few decades and be better! ENGLISHMAN'S CLARET wrote a description of this wine a few they drank a few years ago, agree with everything except the rating.

I had heard that Clos Goillotte boasts a nose which outstrips the palate and although that was true here, what a nose it is! When the cork was first pulled, this had a pure and complex Vosne nose of red fruits, Vosne spice (with a little of Chambolle cinnamon), sous-bois/autumn leaf, game, a touch of geranium. Coming back to the glass half an hour, it was as if someone turned the volume up - a blast of Vosne spice surging from the glass. This waxed and waned a bit over the next couple of hours but at its best offered what seemed like a Grand Cru nose. Simpler on the palate with a lot of the same constituent notes, smokier with time. The tannins are entirely resolved here and this is certainly in its twilight years - but a fascinating and really gratifying experience.

very floral nose, beautiful fruit, as good as it gets pinot noir for this price range. Can age many more years.
