Let me preface that Chasseur is my ideal Pinot. The Alma Rosa seemed to lack fruit, almost bitter or perhaps tannic. Earthy might be a stretch. I bought this bottle at the winery and thoroughly enjoyed it! Perhaps it was the timing.

A very good representation of the Sta. Rita Hills in terms of Pinot Noir, this wine has typical aromas and flavors of strawberries and spice in a medium- bodied, though somewhat rich style. The wine has admirable balance and should work well with dishes ranging from salmon to duck (I had with roasted duck).
