  • From a brief taste, much like the previous and enjoyed by all, at La Sardine.

  • Pale unripe lemon gold. Nose of sweet peach, lemon curd, and a hint of pineapple. The palate is almost totally dry, but not too tart, white stone and pommes fruit, spicy, cold stones, very light in texture, with a slight spritzy edge. This is a very nice Riesling, about kabinet-trocken level of intensity.

  • The 2010 Mineral is a sleeper of the vintage, as Emrich-Schönleber blend it´s top Riesling A.de.L. into this cuvee of Monzinger Frühlingsplätzchen and a slop of the Halenberg, as he decided not to release his top wine in this vintage, which might have been a mistake. However, the Mineral of this vintage is not comparable to its siblings of the other vintages. That´s may be why some people don´t seem to like this wine very much. It will take much more patient, until this wine will fully approachable. In the first two years you really had to adore mineral driven wines with a salty driven finish and a pure but completely closed stone fruit. Today the wine gave the first insights of his richness and complexity. Yes, there is a lot of fruit there and this is surprisingly ripe and rich, you can even notice some residual sugar on the palate. In the nose it shows a deep rather earthy minerality with a hint of wet pebble stones, glazed citrus fruits and apples. On the palat mid-weighted, rich and fruity taste with the first slip, remembers me of ripe peaches and apples, a smooth texture makes the wine already very enjoyable and the perfect balance for the firm acidity, the minerality will appear on the mid-palate and in the finish, very salty, and show a variety of wild herbs, but there is also fruit here until the appealing finish. Particular here the wine shows its deepness and complexity, but also that it will require still some time of cellaring. However it´s todays freshness and vitality that is wonderful to enjoy and given the price it’s an excellent buy to get into Germans mineral driven dry Riesling from currently one of the best winery we have.

  • Subtle and a bit more closed compared to the 2010 Lenz and Estate Riesling trocken, with strong tones of minerals but also peaches, apricots and subtle lavender. A lovely wine which needs a year or two in the cellar.

  • Tried again and again to me it's too sour and the combination with salty doesn't do it for me without a sweetness contradicting it.
