served with marinated pork loin and yellow baby potatoes and salad this wine was an excellent match - soft, elegant, with just the right balance of flavor and tannin; a great food companion

Light red. Briary, tart red fruit on both the nose and palate. Flavors like underripe raspberry. Feels a little thin with real acidic tang for an '09. The best part may be a gently earthy finish. Not for me.

Clear mild-medium ruby colour with thin clear rim. Fruit with sweet oak but not much else on the nose. Light tannin with medium acidity, body and acidity. Nice long balanced finish. Young but with promise of elegance. I enjoyed with salmon...but did not stand up well to the tomato based risotto (judgement error on my part).

Clear with light-medium ruby colour and thin watery rim. Clean with hard-to-characterize fruit aroma and sweet oak on the nose. Mild tannins, medium body and acidity with medium alcohol with pleasant long well balanced finish. Still young but with hint of elegance to follow. Had this with salmon and it supported the meal extremely well although the wine did not like the tomato sauce on the risotto (strategic error on my part)!

Some Weekend Burgundy; 12/14/2012-12/15/2012 (Dig Wines and San Francisco Wine Trading Company): Light red center, pale edge. Earthy, briary nose. Nice light cherry and strawberry notes with earthy, brambly, tannic finish that is quite dry. This could only be Burgundian Pinot Noir.
