Decanted 2 hours. This bottle drank pretty much the same as it did 2 years ago. Dark cherry fruit, low acidity with some forest floor and some green notes. Maybe this is as good as it gets for this wine. Still a decent value.

Decanted for about an hour before drinking, then finished over the next four hours. Aroma has earthiness and red cherry. It's pretty tart, especially on the finish. This had a better window around the two hour mark of being decanted.

This is a really nice Greves -- I like it better than the Bouchard l'Enfant Jesus. It is red-fruited and juicy, but it has a serious underbelly -- a base of gravelly minerality, the slightest touch of cedary oak, and more grip than one expects from this loose-knit vintage or from a wine with such juicy freshness. Part of the latter may be a result of some CO2 which it managed to shake off easily enough; after that it developed more gravitas. Texture-wise, this isn't especially refined, but it's not rustic either. Very good value.

Left to breathe in the bottle for 3 hours. Lovely nose of dark cherry, smoke and some damp earth. Medium plus body with dark cherry fruit and notes of forest floor, stems and herbs. Fairly low acidity. Moderate finish with tannins in evidence. Very good but at this point this wine is better on the nose than on the palate but it is obviously young and still tightly wound. I think this will benefit greatly from several years in the cellar. Pretty good QPR at $29. (89+ pts).

2009 Red Burgundies - Pre-Arrival 1:30pm Group (Vin, Vino, Wine Palo Alto CA): complex nose that is always changing. Wet slate, salami, so much going on. The flavor did not do it for me though, not bad but not my taste. Love the nose, flavor is so so.
