It hurts to drink this. It’s my last gamay. But I think it is late peak and it would be a disservice to let it fade too much. In some ways, the wine remains young - the color is youthful. The flavors are classic Loire. I wouldn’t get gamay, but 100% Loire, with the distinct peanut shell / vine aroma. It is starting to fade slightly. What is great is the texture. Silky, like an almost great old Bordeaux. Not something I would have attributed to this wine in its youth. This could surprise me and last, but I’d say drink soonish. Lovely

Intensely green, celery salt nose. Initially tight but loosened up with an hour of air. This has dropped some fruit and assumed a leafier disposition since I last lasted a year ago, and overall shows a slightly developed character now. While it's still a very fine drink I will go against the grain here and admit that I prefer the CRB gamay while still in the flush of youth.

2010 Clos Roche Blance (SoNo East Apartments - Chicago, IL): This has been a reliable star from the Touraine, and such a fun comparison to the Gamay from Beaujolais. A bit leafier than its Burgundian brethren, this also has more tobacco notes. Energetic, rocky, and earthy. Great stuff.

Still drinking well but I'd drink sooner rather than later. Each time one of my few remaining bottles of CRB goes I'm a bit sad.

delicious. floral, fruity, a little green herbs. Still young and boisterous, but eminently drinkable.
