Great, close-to-mature Sangiovese in a rustic style showing off bitter, dusty fruit and farmyard funk. There is still some waiting to do for the tannins to fully resolve but the wine is in a good spot right now. Got better and better with air.

Okemo, VT. Now we are talking. Medium red color, much lighter compared to the super Tuscan. Floral nose with a distinct mark of rose petals. Refined, red fruit on the palate - there is a Burgundian feel to this wine. The fruit is pure, focused and restrained - this is not a show-off wine. Below the fruit, one senses damp earth, smoke and spices. A lovely Brunello.
