  Drunk over two days. I thought this was a pretty decent Rossi di Montalcino with many of appeals of classic sangiovese. Clear medium ruby in appearance, with a soft bouquet of cherry, blackberry, with layers of forest floor and vanilla spice. The palate was a bit one dimensional with dark cherry notes to fore, framed by fine dusty oak tannins and bright acidity. The good fruit, and balanced structure, suggests this wine would benefit from a year or two in the cellar to integrate the oak and develop additional complexity.

  The bouquet is the best part of this wine with beautiful ripe red fruits. On the palate the fruits are very primary without offering much complexity and the finish is a bit alcoholic. Ok wine, but not really offering something extra. Drink between now and approx. 3 - 4 years.
