We have had this wine since August of 2013. I'm sorry but I can't recall what we paid for it (at Total Wine). We drank it this evening with grilled beef, corn on the cob, and sourdough bread with balsamic vinegar. The wine was opened 2 hour prior to drinking. We totally loved it. Wonderful nose with lots of variety. Rich taste that lasted through the meal. No unpleasant aftertaste.

Did a comparative tasting with two American Pinot Noirs. I was in a hurry so I poured through the Vinturi. Medium garnet color with a medium body. Aromas of plums, cherries, blackberries, sandalwood and nutmeg. Flavors of rich dark cherries, plums, blackberries, almond, vanilla, a little tobbaco, and lightly toasted bread. Round tannins, medium to long finish, and a good balance. After being thoroughly disappointed with the other Pinot, this one was a pleasant surprise.

Deep black cherry color. A little young tasting initially - improving over time. Cherry. Unexpected tanins and secondary flavors on the finish - a little bit "old world" in that respect. Dry on the finish as well. Went well with an Italian meal.

A bit of reductive funk on the nose, needs some air time to breath out a bit? A bit more expressive on the palate. Way over at $50.
