  • This begins a little funky, but after a few minutes all that blows off and it's quite nice and smooth. Aromas are vibrant, showing some cantaloupe melon, tart acid and lemon intensity; some slight minerals. The palate is incredibly luscious for a Pinot Gris, perhaps the most luscious I've come across in Oregon. The lovely counterbalance to this is incredible acidity, tart, lovely intense lemon and creamy papaya and other vibrant tropical fruits as it's held on the palate. Just lovely, juicy notes. I'm quite surprised how well this balances its acid, creamy body, and juicy fruit. The finish attacks with more vibrant acidity on an incredibly luscious texture. I really love the blossoming finish that lingers a long time. Amazing stuff... I thought this may be falling apart as I intended to drink it right away but somehow let it go three years. It hasn't lost anything. For me, their Pinot Gris is by far Hawks View's finest wine. This is on the cusp of 92.
